Responsibilities Serve as JPMRC 196th BDE Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist responsible for determining knowledge management needs supporting the mission, vision, and goals. Perform a variety of technical work supporting JPMRC 196th BDE knowledge management that involves liaison responsibilities between the organization and technical staff. Responsible for developing creative and innovative technological ways to improve JPMRC 196th KM. Serve as the primary advocate and advisor for the organization on KM requirements, introducing business transformation processes, developing and implementing policy and program guidance. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing long-range plans and objectives for administering a knowledge management (KM) program; and evaluating the effectiveness of a knowledge management (KM) program such as web-based interface tools aligned with Military and Civilian business practices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Knowledge Management Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). During rotational exercises, the employee is required to work a flexible duty hours which includes - weekends, holidays, and shift work consistent of 10-12 hours days for an extended 2-week period or longer. This position is subject to deployment through-out the Pacific AOR to include countries West of the International Date Line, that employee is deployed and work in austere and remote field conditions in support of maneuver training exercises as part of a forward support training package. Deployments are to other training areas. In the event of a deployment, the employee must continue to perform assigned duties to support the mission requirements until relieved by proper authority, or the mission is complete. The employee may be required to live and work in tents or shelters while on deployment and may be expose to hazardous conditions. Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 3 Years. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
