About you and this role:
Dowhas an exciting opportunity for aPower Distribution Operations Leaderlocated inFort Saskatchewan (AB, CAN).
The Fort Saskatchewan Power Distribution Operations Leader (PDOL) will be responsible for building and leading a newly formed power distribution team (approximately 20-25 engineers & technicians) within the broader Power & Utilities (P&U) team. The PDOL will work with the Path2Zero UPI project to turn over, commission, and start up new electrical distribution equipment and infrastructure, as well as operate and maintain existing power distribution assets. The PDOL will partner with the P&U production leader (plant manager) and power generation operations leader to grow and foster a work environment characterized by safe operations, respect, and professional development of all team members.
The P&U organization manages power, steam, and utility supply to the Fort Saskatchewan site which includes ethylene, polyethylene, and ethylene glycol production. The P&U organization is growing and transforming with the Path2Zero program, with the PDOL leading an electrical team integral to the success of the multi-billion dollar investment in the site!
Responsibilities:
Partners with the production leader to drive a strong personal safety, process safety, and environmental strategy to achieve EH&S goals and ensure compliance with regulatory and permit requirements.
Supports production leader to provide motivation, explanation, context, and communication purpose of messages to the organization.
Develops operations employees and ensures career success via goal-setting, performance management, promotion processes, and employee development plans.
Learn and share the business model and strategy for facility and site.
Provide leadership during turnarounds and commissioning & startup (C&SU) activities, including extended periods in which the support staff fills 12-hour shift coverage.
Qualifications:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 12 years of relevant industry experienceor12+ years of combined electrical higher education and relevant industry experience (i.e. 4 years of college plus 8 years of industry experience)
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of permanent residency support.
