Job Summary and Qualifications
The Sepsis Coordinator supports early recognition of sepsis ad patients in need of an early intervention and a higher level of care and improving outcomes for patients with sepsis, severe sepsis, and septic shock. Ensures the protocols and therapies become the standard of care followed within the facility. Collaborates with medical and hospital staff to provide multidisciplinary care to patients with the diagnosis of sepsis, responds to sepsis alerts. Functions as an educator and coordinates care in critical care / sepsis patient care management, ensuring optimal patient care management and outcomes.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of accredited school of nursing; RN; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
1-3 years of experience in acute hospital setting preferred.
Emergency or Critical Care nursing experience preferred.
Experience in Performance Improvement and Clinical Data Abstraction is required.
Working knowledge of quality improvement/hospital regulatory standards preferred.
Working knowledge of computer systems and programs. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred.

Lawnwood Hospital provides interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery.
