Description
This is highly skilled and technical level trades work performing complex repairs and maintenance on Lee County bridges and street lighting systems. This position must demonstrate a high level of skill in the electrical trade.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for installation, service, overhaul, and repair of all sizes of mechanical items to include; pumps, motors, generators, bridge gates, bridge controls, as well as associated bridge fender and navigational lighting.
Repair and replacement of street lights and street light power centers.
May assist traffic signal technicians.
Occasionally serve as crew leader when needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Licensing
Minimum Requirements
Requires any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED and two (2) years of experience in motor control, electrical trade and/or a closely related field.
This is a safety-sensitive position, which is subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing as provided in DOT regulation 49 CFR-Parts 40 and/or 382.
Licenses/Certification
Requires possession of IMOT and Level I Roadway Lighting IMSA certification within six (6) months of hire date or employment will end.
Possession of a Level II IMSA Certification in Traffic Signals, IMSA Level I Certification in Street Lighting and Maintenance of Traffic or the ability to obtain certification within one (1) year of the hire date is required.
Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Learners Permit and an acceptable driving record at the time of offer with the ability to obtain a valid Class B CDL with Air Brakes endorsement within six (6) months of hire date is required.
Supplemental Information
Preferably hold a Professional Electrical Journeyman's License.
Skilled in operating small machinery and hand tools.
Capable of working from blueprints and sketches.
Able to operate a 55' bucket truck with a pole-setting jib.
Physically able to lift up to 60 pounds and climb ladders/scaffolding.
Knowledgeable of codes, rules, and regulations governing the job.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Team player, as additional hours are often required to complete tasks.
The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
