Description

Shift differential with 3% additional compensation is paid for working the PM shift.

LeeTran is seeking to hire professional individuals to join our LeeTran family and make a difference in our community.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work includes the use of tools and equipment, performing general labor, maintenance and/or custodial tasks.

  • Major responsibility will be maintaining Lee County Transit buses, vans, cars and trucks, to include, but not limited to:

  • Cleaning and detailing exterior and interior walls, ceilings, seats, windows, floors, compartments, etc.

  • Collect and empty garbage

  • Checking and replenishing fuel, coolant, engine oil, brake, transmission, windshield wiper, and power steering fluids

  • Maintaining accurate mileage and fuel records

  • Maintaining inventory of supplies

  • Take appropriate action to ensure the safety of themselves and others, reporting safety issues upon inspection

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, Licensing

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to High School graduation or GED equivalent and six months maintenance or closely related experience.

  • This is a safety-sensitive position which is subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing as provided in DOT regulation CFR-Part 40, 49 CFR Part 655.

Licenses

  • Possession of a valid Class A or B CDL with no Air Brake restriction and Passenger Endorsement OR a valid Class A or B CDL Permit with no Air Brake restriction and Passenger Endorsement before offer.

  • Must obtain a Florida CDL Class B License with Passenger Endorsement and no Air Brake restriction within 30 days of hire date. (Training and testing provided by LeeTran staff.)

Supplemental Information

  • Ability to operate buses, trolleys, cars, trucks, vans, and forklifts, including at night.

  • Ability to lift and carry 50-pounds.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Incumbent must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.

    This is a PM shift and the work hours will be 3:30 pm-12 am. Days will vary to include weekends and some holidays.
