Army Installation Management Command Administrative Support Assistant (OA) in Fort Myer, Virginia

Summary About the Position: This position is located at the US Army Garrison HHC/HHD Command, Joint Base Myer - Henderson Hall, Virginia. Fort Myer is a 15 minute commute to/from the Arlington National Cemetery Metro Station, a 10-15 minute commute to/from the Rosslyn, Virginia Metro Station, and is accessible by bus transportation. The installation is approximately 7 miles from Washington D.C. and a short distance from major roadways and express highways. Responsibilities Incumbent performs a variety of clerical, administrative and technical duties/responsibilities in support of management with the intent of accomplishing the administrative requirements of the organization assigned. The incumbent contributes to the efficient and effective accomplishment of the objectives of the overall organization; requires substantive practical knowledge of (a) the organization's mission and operating programs; (b) support organizations and functions; and (c) specific techniques of analysis. Applies this combined knowledge to the continued study and resolution of questions and problems so as to promote efficiency and effectiveness of the assigned area of responsibility. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes review and prepare correspondence using automated systems; and independently responds to routine and non-technical requests for information; and disseminates information concerning new or changing administrative guidance; and utilize automated systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, graphics or time and attendance systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. This position is a term position and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.
