Overview:

St. Elizabeth Hospital Emergency Department is state verified as a Level 3 trauma center with the ability to stabilize and keep 85% of traumas presenting to the hospital. Additionally, as a Chest Pain Center, the Emergency Department provides the highest level of care for chest pain patients and transfer patients to higher levels of care within our network as needed. Yearly volumes for the Emergency Department are around 7,758 annually and admit nearly 800 patients to our inpatients setting each year. We look for candidates with strong teamwork, collaboration, flexibility, and an attitude for doing what is needed for our patients.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for:

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.

  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.

  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following:

Education Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs

Experience Requirements

  • One year RN ED experience

  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

Licenses/Certification

  • CO RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact

  • BLS from AHA

  • ACLS from AHA required upon hire or within 6 months of hire

  • ENPC required upoon hire or within 6 months of hire

  • NIHSS required upon hire or within 6 months of hire

  • PALS from AHA required upon hire or within 6 months of hire

  • TNCC required upon hire or within 6 months of hire

Physical Requirements

  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

PRN requires 5 shifts in 6 weeks.

Providing care through-out the region, St. Elizabeth Hospital provides cardiology, maternal, emergency, surgical, pediatrics, and acute care inpatient services in addition to the multitude of subspecialists in our specialty clinic. At 50 beds, St. Elizabeth is the region’s referral center serving a wide span of northeastern Colorado. Pay Range:

$32.01 - $52.33 / hour
