U.S. Marine Corps DATA INTEGRATION AND ARTIFICIAL SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT in Fort Meade, Maryland

Summary The incumbent serves as the recognized technical leadership expert and principal advisor to the Commander and Executive Director for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and related technologies. The Highly Qualified Expert (HQE) responds to multiple subordinate commands and is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of Data Strategy and AI solutions and infrastructure within the command. Responsibilities You will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of AI systems and infrastructure and identifying AI-enabling opportunities and solutions for the command. You will develop and direct Data and AI strategies, security, governance, and effective exploitation to enhance and increase decision and situational understanding cycles. You will be responsible for ensuring that the Data and AI systems are integrated with the existing technology infrastructure and applications of the command. You will oversee the development of data management and governance processes and collaborate with external partners and vendors to stay up-to-date with the latest Data and AI technologies and trends. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Applicants will be assessed against Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs). MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Each must be addressed separately in your Supplemental Narrative Statement. Each MTQ must not exceed 2 pages.) 1. In-depth knowledge and expertise in data strategy, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing, with a proven track record in designing and developing AI systems for military and defense applications. This includes an understanding of data management and governance best practices in the military and defense sectors, including data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations. 2. Proficiency in programming languages as well as experience working with data analysis and visualization tools, to support the development and deployment of AI solutions. 3. Expertise in cloud computing, big data technologies, and distributed computing, with a deep understanding of how these technologies can be leveraged to support AI solutions for the military and defense. 4. Strong project management and problem-solving skills, including experience leading cross-functional teams, managing budgets and timelines, and developing project plans to ensure the successful delivery of data integration and AI solutions. Education Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. or Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
