The Fort McKay Group of Companies LP is currently recruiting for an experienced Team Lead- SERP for Fort McKay Strategic Services LP. The Team Lead will report to the Mine Operations Manager or Designate, the Team Lead is accountable for supervising the mine operations in a safe and efficient manner consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP. This is a permanent full-time position located on the Syncrude Site, north of Fort McMurray, AB.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Train, supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of the workers

  • Ability to provide input and implement policies and procedures

  • Be familiar and enforce the LPS rules and responsibilities

  • Resolve workplace issues and recommend improvements to the Mine Operations Manager

  • Prepare various reports (i.e. production reports, LEM?s, observations)

  • Strong record keeping and reporting skills

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, plan ahead, set and reset priorities and meet deadlines

  • Must be decisive and work well under pressure, particularly when faced with an unexpected occurrence or delay

  • Ability to minimize and resolve workplace conflict

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills

  • Responsible and Accountable for enforcing the company and client policy and procedures

  • Respond to and rectify safety related concerns

  • 6 & 6 schedule; days only

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Landfill Operator Certificate is required

  • Current training in behavior based HSE principles, Leadership, Mine Planning and Scheduling

  • CSTS and OSSA or BSO is required

  • Minimum of three (3) years in supervisory/leadership capacity

  • LPS experience is required

  • Dozer, Excavator, Loader and Grader experience is required

  • Ability to follow construction designs is required

  • Familiarity with Construction Mythology and Surveying is essential.

  • Current valid Class five (5) drivers license or better with clean driving abstract

  • Ability to use Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and the Internet comfortably

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Working Conditions:

Site Environment with exposure to dust, loud noise from equipment, uneven walking and driving surfaces and temperatures ranging from 30° Celsius to -30° Celsius.
