This role offers an exhilarating chance to lead and manage large-scale transportation infrastructure Design/Build projects for strategic clients, from the bid phase all the way through to completion. We are seeking a candidate with extensive experience in the Design/Build process, adept at managing multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring seamless collaboration between the design and construction phases. As a leader, you will play a crucial role in strengthening our Design/Build business, understanding client organizations and processes, maintaining consistent relationships at all organizational levels, and ensuring Jacobs remains the consultant-of-choice for our clients.
As a Sr. Project Manager in our Transportation Design/Build business, you can expect to:
Be responsible for the overall coordination and delivery of design on large, complex alternative delivery projects, including Design-Build and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects.
Effectively maintain diverse relationships with the Contractor, Owner Representatives, and various project stakeholders and influencers.
Plan, direct, and coordinate multi-discipline staff in a high-intensity environment, often involving multi-office execution.
Work directly with project controls and scheduling staff to manage the project, analyze Earned Value and Schedule performance, and effectively collaborate with team interfaces to ensure project goals and objectives are met within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Ensure the overall quality and coordination of the work performed, manage client interfaces, utilize staff efficiently, uphold the reputation of the Team and Jacobs, oversee contract management, billing collection, and control project profitability.
Establish work plans and multi-disciplinary staffing for each project phase and arrange for the recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
Provide training to Staff-level Engineers.
Direct and coordinate activities of Project Engineers, Engineers, and Technicians to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget.
Represent Jacobs’ alternative delivery capabilities in assigned locations, markets, and at industry associations.
Develop, review, and confirm the financial and project delivery schedule activities of design and construction as they relate to all involved disciplines.
Ensure that the project team complies with the contract agreement and exercises strict cost control to implement the approved design within established budget constraints.
Lead, interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate project assignments and manage projects that are larger in scope and complexity.
Collaborate with other subgroups and interact with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, other consultants, and professional organizations.
Attend meetings, make presentations, and respond to questions as required.
Work closely with staff in other departments, even if they are not within the same office.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
10+ years of expertise in complex, multi-discipline highway project design management, including experience as a Design Manager on one or more Design-Build and/or Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects.
Experience in alternative delivery transportation infrastructure projects with a construction value exceeding $200M.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in Florida or the ability to obtain it within 6 months is required.
Design-Build experience in Florida.
Willingness to travel onsite throughout Florida.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
Master’s degree
PMP or equivalent, and/or PgMP or equivalent
Project experience with a construction value of $1B
Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
