U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Supply Technician (Inventory) in Fort Jackson, South Carolina

Summary About the Position: Serves as Supply Technician (Inventory) participating in the management and property accountability of the equipment and property of the Fort Jackson's weapons pool required to maintain installation-wide operations. TEMP Appointment: This position is a TEMPORARY Not to Exceed 1 year position and may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years. Responsibilities Assist in managing the hazardous waste stream of weapons cleaning solvents and lubrication; from identification, inspections, and proper turn-in. Assist management and receipt holders in assuring assigned hand receipt reflects appropriate authorization documents, current stock number and nomenclature, authorized quantities and other pertinent property control entries. Conduct inventories of weapons, and equipment in accordance with (IAW) applicable regulations and accurately completes all forms and records associated with the operations of the arms storage facility. Incumbent will be required to be a hand receipt holder of real or accountable property. Ascertain by examination and observation that receipts, storage, use, disposition, and accounting records conform to procedures prescribed by applicable regulations and directives. Provide supervisor with forecasts of the weapons pool shop operations. Recommend the requisitioning or procurement action necessary to obtain the requirements indicated by supply control studies or through liaison with operating segments. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing product inventory using automated systems; and 2) Identifying causes of inventory variances by conducting data inquiries and inventories. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--NO substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
