About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center at Fort Hunter Liggett, CA. This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 13 months position. Please see "Additional Information" section below for further details. Responsibilities Coordinate logistics support to serviced organizations through activities within the organization. Interpret guidance from Agency or Command to develop local operational guidance. Personnel Management to include planning, organizing, assigning and reviewing work. Make technical decisions to resolve policy and logistics procedure matters involving logistics commodity. Create reports to brief decision makers on program status and recommend actions and initiatives to enhance logistics management efficiency and effectiveness. Develop sustainment resource requirements to ensure unit readiness and mission accomplishment. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applying logistics regulations, policies, principles, practices, and/or methods; 2) Executing one or more logistics activity (such as: maintenance, supply, ammunition, food service, laundry, transportation, property accountability, or fuel operations); 3) Reviewing contracts to verify accuracy in accordance with contract administration principles; and 4) Managing safety programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Leadership Manages Resources Organizational Awareness Planning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations. Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. This position may be converted to a permanent, career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent. This position is obligated. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights based on active military service, compensable injury or disability when fully recovered, or return rights based on having served an overseas tour. Obligated positions may also cover employees who have been on extended leave without pay under certain circumstances. When a position is obligated it means that he/she has an entitlement to that position. During the obligation period, the position may be filled on a temporary or permanent basis. When an obligated position is filled, the selected employee is required to sign an agreement acknowledging that (s)he is aware of the obligation and accepts the fact that (s)he may be displaced under reduction in force procedures at a later time. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. This position will be filled as a time-limited appointment. Army employees who accept time limited appointments (to include employees with personal competitive status) will be separated at the end of the time-limited appointment date if the Not-to-Exceed (NTE) date is not extended. Permanent Army employees who accept a time limited appointment will be expected to sign a statement of understanding acknowledging the associated impacts of taking such appointment.
