U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Supervisory Training Specialist in Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia
Summary About the Position: Serves as a division chief in the Training Management Office, Ordnance School, with the responsibility for planning, directing, controlling and coordinating all activities of the Division to include contract management, training management, academic records, training scheduling, resource management oversight (budget and manpower), personnel management, supply management, civilian professional development, and other program management functions. Responsibilities Incumbent provides leadership of Division, analytical services, guidance, and staff advice for all subordinate echelons/organizational levels within the Ordnance School. Work of the unit consists of contract management, training management, academic records, training scheduling, resource management, personnel management, supply management, civilian professional development, and travel system oversight. Plans and directs technical work within Division; ensures information provided is consistent and accurate. Coordinates the work of the unit and provides advice and guidance to managers and subordinates on work plans, schedules, methods, and goals of work projects. Advises the Director of Training in the application of training technology strategy, strategies to enhance resident instruction, and doctrine on programs involving IMT and Professional Military Education (PME). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience twhich includes demonstrating a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, such as supervising or administering a training program, teaching in an adult education program, analysis, design, development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Education / Training Program Administration Education Consultation, Coaching and Collaboration Oral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
