Job Summary

The Sr Manager of Transit oversees and elevates all aspects of our transit operations services, and ensures the delivery of exceptional service to our community. This senior-level role requires a strategic mindset with deep expertise in transit operations, outstanding leadership skills, and a passion for innovation, partnership, and community engagement. The Sr Manager of Transit leads and inspires teams, empowering them to achieve excellence and drive continuous improvement. This position is instrumental in shaping the future of public transportation in Fort Collins by driving customer satisfaction, enhancing bus route services, meeting the needs of our residents, and fostering extensive community and stakeholder engagement while collaborating with local institutions and external partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Development:

Drive innovation and foster a cohesive, high-performing team dedicated to achieving organizational excellence and community engagement. Strategic Leadership and Vision:

Provide strategic direction and oversight for all Transfort operations, with the flexibility to adapt responsibilities based on organizational structure needs and evolving priorities.

Operational Excellence:

Oversee the implementation and adherence to a robust Operations budget exceeding $16 million annually, ensuring optimal use of resources in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Direct new and continuing operations to maximize service delivery and operational efficiency. Develop and implement short and long-term staffing plans, coordinating with relevant City departments to ensure adequate resourcing and support. Regulatory Compliance and Best Practices:

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and provide expert guidance on City and Departmental policies, ADA guidelines, CDL regulations, DOT regulations, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations. Ensure stringent compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, promoting a culture of safety and accountability. Community Engagement and Public Relations:

Serve as the primary liaison to the public, Department Head, Service Area Director, City Manager, and City Council on matters related to operations. Prepare and deliver public presentations and reports, effectively communicating Transfort s objectives, achievements, and future plans. Analyze community transit needs, providing data-driven insights, alternatives, and recommendations to address current and long-range transit goals and service issues. Innovation and Sustainability:

Advocate for and implement innovative and sustainable practices within transit operations, aligning with the City s commitment to social, economic, and environmental resiliency. Drive initiatives that enhance the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of Transfort services, positioning the organization as a leader in publ c transportation. Management Responsibilities
