Avago Technologies U.S. Inc. R&D Engineer IC Design in Fort Collins, Colorado
Design CAD (Computer-Aided Design) using Cadence Allegro Package Designer (APD) with the company s proprietary custom HUB software tools; Netlist management and ball map design using the company s proprietary MPSS (Multiple Page Size Support) software tool; Develop reusable design libraries for frequently used circuits, and analyze these structures for signal integrity, power integrity, manufacturability, cost, and reliability; Manage package design projects, including regular collaboration with our customers; Perform design analysis and verification using Ansys SiWave solvers, with the company s proprietary methodology and design targets; Use the company s proprietary Flip Chip Records (FCR) software to catalog design features and generate requests for quote from our vendors; Design package structures for over 200 Gb/s SerDes communication, considering both power integrity and signal integrity; Apply the company s proprietary package-technology rules to achieve reliable and manufacturable packages of extraordinary size and integration; Oversee the design work of junior team members and vendor designers; Lead design and delivery of new products/process; Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors; Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results; Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise; Champion significant projects, programs and business initiatives using demonstrated creativity and ingenuity; Act as an escalate point for complex issues; Coach and mentor other junior team members by providing a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in their area of specialization; Determine work priorities based on general direction from managers; Determine methods and procedures on new assignments; Consult with management on long-range goals; and Determine own priorities, both tactical and strategic.
