SLR International Corporation Project Engineer Or Scientist in Fort Collins, Colorado

Synopsis

SLR International Corporation is currently seeking a Project Engineer or Scientist with at least three years of experience in providing Air Quality-related support to industrial clients, to join our team in Fort Collins. Experience with Alaska air permitting is preferred, but not required. The successful candidate will work with a strong team of engineers and scientists to primarily support oil and gas sector clients, with an emphasis on air emissions inventory reporting and air quality permitting and regulatory compliance work. The candidate may also have opportunities to support mining and minerals, chemical manufacturing, power, and other industrial sector clients.

This position offers room for growth and is designed for an individual with industry or consulting experience, looking to implement and expand their air quality skill set. This full-time position requires an onsite presence at our Fort Collins, Colorado office and is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing international environmental consulting organization. Required Technical Skills and Experience

Bachelor of Science in engineering, earth sciences, or other relevant technical science degree program Minimum of three years of experience providing air emissions inventory development and reporting, and air quality permitting and compliance support to oil and gas and other industrial sectors Air pollutant emission source calculations using mass balance and emission factors Air permitting experience, including minor and/or synthetic minor construction permits and Title V Air quality regulatory analysis (state and federal Clean Air Act regulations) Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient in technical writing; high-level attention to detail Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, Outlook) Valid driver's license and ability to travel by airplane and car, including overnight travel

Preferred Technical Skills and Experience

Experience with Alaska air permitting Compliance reporting, including criteria pollutant and GHG emission inventories PSD/NSR air permitting experience Air quality modeling experience (AERMOD) Proficient with supplemental Microsoft Office software (Access, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Permit review with technical and regulatory evaluation Knowledge of, and experience with, any of the following federal regulations NSPS Subparts GG, KKKK, KKK, J/Ja, GGG/VV, IIII, JJJJ, Da, Db, Dc, K, Ka, Kb, OOOO, OOOOa, NESHAP Subparts HH, ZZZZ, YYYY, CCCCC

Responsibilities

Provide air quality permitting and regulatory compliance support to industrial clients Analyze industrial processes and operations to quantify air pollutant emissions Generate emissions calculations or estimates using spreadsheets, databases, third party software, and process simulation software to quantify air emissions from industrial emission sources Review federal, state, and local regulations to identify applicable requirements governing the operation of air emission sources Prepare air quality permit applications to obtain authorization to construct and operate air pollutant emission sources Develop and use data management systems and tools to track compliance with permit requirements and air regulations, and prepare compliance reports Review draft air permits and prepare detailed comments to address technical and regulatory errors Prepare proposals, reports, and other written deliverables
