Position title: Mechanical Engineer (ME II or Senior) Reports to: Mechanical Engineering Manager Department: Research and Development Location: Fort Collins, Colorado (on-site)

Primary Responsibilities - Owning the mechanical design and development of small to medium level strategic projects. Many projects involve design and creation of submersible sensors with tight mechanical requirements that must meet an expected life of 5-10 years. Work with marketing and other engineers to plan and execute projects, assist in the creation of appropriate product and technical specifications. Create 3D layouts and 2D detail drawings for products and components Design and build production fixtures used to facilitate manufacturing of products Troubleshoots field failures and internal failures, driving to root cause and corrective actions Updates product designs as required to meet quality and cost improvement goals Creates, implements, and monitors appropriate test plans for new products and product improvements Works with manufacturing team to ensure that product launches and product quality standards are maintained Achieves mechanical engineering objectives by contributing mechanical engineering information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans Oversee testing to ensure that a high level of quality and reliability is present in the final product and that it meets project requirements Participate as a member of product development teams to design mechanical systems Participate in FMEA, risk analysis and verification/validation of product design to ensure projects meet manufacturability, quality, and reliability goal Conducts thorough risk assessments for designs and processes, identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies Leads small to medium projects including planning, scheduling, design work, and cross-functional communication Position Qualifications Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States of America Excellent written and verbal communication skills Process oriented with a sense of urgency A strong team player, results-oriented, excellent communicator, and comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline Proficient user of CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred) including 3D layouts and 2D detail drawings Strong communication skills to be able to work effectively with marketing, eng neering, technical support, and customers Excellent self-starter skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Process oriented problem solver and team player with a strong work ethic Positive attitude Desired: Experience in mechanical design systems and software including SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM Mechanical testing experience including Temperature, Vibration, Drop and Pull Strength Logical thinker who is not afraid to dive into difficult issues outside of their area of expertise Proficient in design of both molded and machined components Lean manufacturing experience 2+ years of experience in product design. Experience in the water industry or experience designing small submersible devices desired. Experience with opto-mechanical design Working Environment and Physical Conditions Normal office environment Computer system data terminal
TOTAL REWARDS Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data and internal comps. Salary Range: $80,000-105,000
