SUMMARY:
Program, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair hearing, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment and control systems. Identify and suggest ideas and obtain estimates for possible HVAC retrofits for space use changes. Provide a safe and comfortable environment for teachers, students, staff and community. Assist apprentice level HVAC staff in repair of all HVAC equipment
JOB TASKS:
Analyze, troubleshoot, install, repair, rebuild, adjust and replace mechanical equipment such as bearings, motors, heat exchanges, boilers, ventilating and air conditioning compressors, water and pneumatic values, humidity control units, coolers, freezers, cooling towers and exhaust h
Perform preventative maintenance on all HVAC related equipment. Inspect and verify the operation and safety of all hearing boilers, roof top units, air handling units and ventilation systems.
Inspect control systems, maintain appropriate operating schedules and adjust as needed to maximize comfort and energy savings.
Maintain records of service calls, preventative maintenance history and equipment/parts inventory utilizing the District's computerized maintenance management system.
Assist HVAC Apprentice with troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
Maintain updated drawings and other documents relating to District HVAC control systems.
Maintain backup database files for direct digital controls.
Implement and monitor alarming capabilities for District HVAC control systems.
Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
Respond as essential personnel in case of an emergency, weather or environmental event, and/or school/facility/district closure.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
-High school diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent vocational school or short term courses in HVAC equipment installation, repair and maintenance resulting in journeyman level experience
-More than three years and up to and including five years of experience in commercial HVAC equipment installation, repair and maintenance
-Must meet District driver insurability requirements 62003 - HVAC Technician Journeyman
-Valid Colorado driver's license
-E.P.A/C.F.C. certification
