Description of Work Unit

The Center for Collaborative Conservation (www.collaborativeconservation.org) is part of Colorado State University’s Warner College of Natural Resources. Our vision is a resilient world where diverse people work together to conserve nature and build healthy communities. Position Summary

The part time Communications Manager will develop and disseminate communications materials for all Center for Collaborative Conservation initiatives, including newsletters, social media, special publications such as annual reports, routine website maintenance, and other communications needs.

Required Job Qualifications

  • BA or BS in a conservation-related field and minimum one year of experience facilitating on-the-ground collaborative activities and organizations.

  • Commitment to diversity in conservation, including in the workplace, with partners, and/or in programs and projects.

  • Experience with graphic design in Canva and other design platforms.

  • Experience designing materials for and managing common communications platforms, including WordPress website; social media accounts including: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube; and MailChimp;

  • Familiarity with collaborative conservation generally and CCC specifically.

  • Experience working on a communications team.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • At least one year experience supervising education and/or mentoring student interns;

  • At least one year direct experience with the CCC and knowledge of our major initiatives

  • Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development in the context of strong teamwork.

  • Maintaining WordPress website and keep content up-to-date

  • Implement special communications projects as needed.
