Army Installation Management Command Recreation Assistant (Lead Lifeguard) NF-02 in Fort Carson, Colorado

Summary This position is located at Fort Carson MWR Recreational Pools. Responsibilities Assist with the operation of the pool, oversees the work of assigned lifeguards and monitors compliance with facility policies. Assists with scheduling of employees. Maintains daily logs and records as required. Assists with the operation of the pool, its filtration system, water balance, pool chemistry and performs water tests. Ensures maintaining pool and area is clean and free from any hazards. Responsible for life guarding guest in attendance at the assigned aquatic facility. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required. Under direction of the pool supervisor, employ safety rules for the protection of the guest. Responsible for assisting in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training according to tC21-21. Attend aquatics and/or safety training as directed. Provides information to swimmers regarding safety rules and procedures. Tactfully warns patrons who repeatedly disregard safety rules, and follow facility Standard Operating Procedures for disciplinary actions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Must possess the following certificates: American Red Cross "Lifeguard" certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certification). American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional Rescuer" (CPR-Pro) certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Ellis & Associates (CPR) Certification). When facilities use Automated External Defibrillator "AED's" and Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the following is required: American Red Cross "Automated External Defibrillator" (AED) certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates AED certification. American Red Cross "Oxygen Administration" certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates Oxygen Administration certification. A cutoff of 2/28/2024 has been established. Additional Information Recruitment Incentives up to $1,000 may apply As a recruitment incentive, we are offering a $1000 recruitment bonus for newly recruited NF-2, Recreation Assistant Lead Lifeguards. The bonus will be paid to the New Hire as follows: $500 will be initiated upon the first full pay period. A $500 retention incentive will be paid in one lump-sum after the first six months of continued employment with DFMWR and if the staff member has not had any LMER actions during that time or currently pending. Eligibility for these incentives and bonuses will be applicable only to newly hired and eligible rehired individuals. For the purpose of eligibility, a newly hired employee is defined as an individual being hired for the first time, or one who is being reinstated or reemployed after a break in service of at least 1 year. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
