Akima Material Coordinator in Fort Campbell, Kentucky

The Material Coordinator expedites flow of materials and products within or between hangars in accordance with production schedules or maintenance priorities. The Material Coordinator reviews hazmat lockers to determine material required and to locate and deliver products to hangars, lockers, or bays according to availability of material; arranges for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules, examines material delivered to production departments to verify if type specified. Identifies products that are expired and takes them to the return locker. Monitor and compile a report of quantity and type of material on hand or used, move or transport material from one location to another using hand or industrial truck; may compile records in order to locate material required for production. Gathers hazardous waste from return lockers and satellite locations and transports waste to main post for turn-in.

Responsibilities

  • Stocks hazmat lockers with required products.

  • Inspects lockers for expired products.

  • Pulls stock from hazmat storage buildings and transports to hangars and lockers for stocking.

  • Transports waste for turn-in.

  • Drives hazmat box truck on the compound, flight line and main post

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a valid driver's license.

  • Must possess or be able to pass a DOT physical.

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

  • Must have experience driving a box truck.

  • Must have or be able to obtain a security clearance.

  • Previous hazmat experience beneficial.

  • Experienced working in a military/govt contracting environment highly preferred.
