Responsibilities Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items Prepares food by peeling, chopping, pairing, cutting, dicing, flouring and breading. Weighs, measures and assembles component parts . Inventory control and receiving orders. Operates equipment gas, electricity, griddles. Cleaning as needed examples, mopping, freezers, fryers, and other equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Work experience in preparing foods and cooking simple foods and short orders in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess. Demonstration of the following work behavior is desirable: a. Neatness and good grooming. b. Dependability. c. Ability to work under pressure. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility. Upon reemployment or reinstatement of a former Crafts and Trades employee, pay may be fixed at a rate for the appropriate grade that matches the rate paid in the previous position.
