Actalent Test Technician in Forest Park, Georgia

Job Description

Panel Quality Assurance (PQA) in P&C Field Services Support provides high quality switchboard panels that meet design standards, assembled/wired correctly and thoroughly functionally tested. The successful candidates will be responsible for verifying the quality of Design, Assembly, and Protection Relay I/O functionality for Relay Control panels and providing a consistent solution to any discrepancies in the panels. The candidate will be expected to perform day-to-day directives while focusing on safety, quality, reliability, and supporting P&CFS and process stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Verify the quality of Design, Assembly, and Protection Relay I/O functionality for Relay Control panels.

  • Provide consistent solutions to any discrepancies in the panels.

  • Perform day-to-day directives focusing on safety, quality, and reliability.

  • Support P&CFS and process stakeholders.

Essential Skills

  • Quality assurance and quality control expertise.

  • Inspection and electrical skills.

  • Knowledge of logic elementary and protection schemes prints, AC/DC Protection & Control Schemes.

  • Familiarity with test equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, communications instruments, and computerized relay test sets.

  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions while managing projects with multiple priorities.

  • Proficient communication skills across multiple work groups.

  • Familiarity with computer programs including Microsoft Office products (Word, TEAMS, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 4-year BS Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or 2-year technical degree in electrical maintenance or equivalent applicable experience (e.g., Substation electrician, technician, wireman, electrician).

  • Experience in electric power utility construction, maintenance, or operations.

  • Related substation experience (P&C Applications, Design, Construction, Major Equipment, Project Management, etc.).

Work Environment

This position is located onsite in Forest Park, Georgia. The work schedule consists of four 10-hour days from Monday to Thursday, with typical hours being 7 AM to 4 PM. The candidate must live within a commutable distance to the Forest Park area or be able to quickly relocate.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00
