GENERAL FUNCTION

To inspect and qualify all finished good optical products to ensure fulfillment of established criteria and standards.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works safety and maintains a safe, organized and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Reports safety hazards and work-related injuries to supervision immediately.

  • Perform process & product audits (visual/ cosmetic inspection) using established criteria.

  • Organizes work throughout the shift and assists employees as needed.

  • Uses basic problem solving skills to ensure stable operation

  • Ability to demonstrates sound judgment and impromptu decisions in a timely manner

  • Provide guidance to QA’s on inspection methods/ techniques, and acceptance criteria.

  • Looks for ways to minimize defects or errors encountered.

  • Utilizes SAP and other systems to report production, scrap

  • Reports problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Production & Quality Supervisors.

  • Assists in training and clarification of criteria/standards for production.

  • Ensure QAs are in conformance with Oakley’s & Quality standards.

  • Audit line organization and inspection process per established audit checklist.

  • Assist in training to new Quality Auditors and provide random audits to audited product.

  • Support on clarification of criteria/standards for production.

  • Validate defects prior to scrapping.

  • Print T2T templates and validate dimensions.

  • Support QA by issuing BOM, FAS & T2T Template.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or G.E.D

  • 3+ Years of Manufacturing Experience

  • Familiar with Quality Systems and Continual Process Improvement.

  • Knowledge of Oakley processes and standards.

  • Experience with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Good communication skills – written and verbal.

  • Able to follow written and verbal directions for special projects.

  • Ability to make decisions during a high stress or fast-paced environment.

  • Decision making ability; utilize product knowledge to determine if product is within criteria.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience, desired.

  • ASQ certification or training: CQT, CMI, CQA

  • Bilingual

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (all levels):

  • Occasionally bends, stoops, and reaches at shoulder level for shift duration.

  • Lift up to 25lbs occasionally throughout shift.

  • Stand continuously for 8-12 hours.

​Pay Range: [[23.68]] - [[35.22]]

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
