Robert Half Tax Manager - Public in Flower Mound, Texas

Description We are looking for a dedicated Tax Manager to join our team in Flower Mound, Texas. The Tax Manager will oversee a designated tax team within our organization, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, and facilitating tax planning initiatives. This role plays a crucial part in our financial department, providing expertise in tax regulations and compliance, and fostering a high-performance culture within the team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management of a designated tax team, ensuring optimal productivity and efficiency.

• Ensure the timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, and local income tax returns.

• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.

• Collaborate with external auditors and tax authorities during audits.

• Conduct in-depth research on tax issues and opportunities to optimize the organization's tax position.

• Lead tax planning initiatives to minimize tax liabilities and maximize cash flow.

• Mentor and develop a team of tax professionals, aligning their growth with the organization's goals and objectives.

• Oversee the preparation and review of tax provisions for financial reporting purposes.

• Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial disclosures related to taxes.

• Identify potential tax risks and implement strategies to mitigate such risks.

• Build and maintain lasting relationships with clients, understanding and anticipating their needs.

• Coordinate internal and external resources to manage and expedite workflow.

• Stay updated with industry trends and company offerings.

• Participate in brainstorming, office activities, team meetings, and client meetings.

• Follow up with clients regularly to ensure needs are being met and identify opportunities. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Tax Manager in a public role

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is compulsory

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is required

• Knowledge of CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax is essential

• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Must be able to perform Accounting Functions

• Auditing skills are required

• Compliance knowledge is essential

• Must have experience in Entity Formation

• Proficiency in Income Tax Accounting is needed

• Must be capable of handling Complex Tax Return

• Experience in Income Tax Return is required

• CPA certification is mandatory
