Essential Responsibilities:

This individual will be responsible for leading and driving the overall NAA supply chain requirements and metrics for the Direct Material (Raw material category). This may include but not be limited to:

  • Collaborating with global supply chain on raw material category strategies.

  • Developing & Implement category strategies that achieve the Year / Year savings cost savings initiatives across all NAA business entities, including factory, service center, field and HQ.

  • Categories subject matter expert-responsible for market/commodity research, RFI’s, RFQ’s, analysis, business cases and ROI: Guide rails & hollow rails, Carbon steel (HDG, cold rolled, pre-paint), Steel fabrication: Tier II metal negotiations, Stainless steel, Copper, Aluminum, Fillers made of concrete, Counterweight made of 2nd quality steel, Ropes.

  • Review, analyze, and research all market data (AMM, S&P Global, MEPS) and provide market insights to leadership.

  • Facilitate cross functional team meetings.

  • Contribute to strategic business initiatives as applicable.

  • Support weekly, Monthly, and quarterly reporting and / or Report outs.

  • Escalation point for supplier / business unit resolution.

  • Lead the negotiation yearly to define raw material strategies with steel mills or service centers, whether it’s fixed pricing or indexed pricing.

  • This individual will manage cost savings projects, price negotiations, and price escalations.

  • Manage supplier performance and have mitigation plans for price, quality, and delivery

Key Challenges:

  • Create strategy and implement operations.

  • Demonstrate value creation and onboard key stakeholders.

  • Manage Supplier network and Supplier Relationships (optimize supplier base).

  • Bring cost transparency – understand cost drivers and implement clean sheet procurement technique (material and conversion cost).

  • Know the industry players in North America/Globally.

  • Collaborate with rest of raw material commodity peers and Global team.

  • Further develop and build a high performing team in a matrix organization.

Basic Qualifications :

  • 5-10 years in a Supply chain management function, procurement, or cost management.

  • Strategic planning/thinking skills coupled with strong financial, analytical and execution skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive teamwork between groups and across functional teams.

  • Strong communication skills including the ability to influence without direct authority in a matrixed organization – leading a regional team to achieve results.

  • Experience with raw material and understanding of NAA steel market is a must.

  • Must be capable to communicate all levels of management using executive level summaries and presentations.

  • Demonstrated project management, change management and negotiating capabilities.

  • Full knowledge of TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and application in negotiations and cost evaluation, including import and freight considerations. Clean Sheet modeling knowledge.

  • Flexibility of daily schedule allowing for effectiveness in a global environment.

  • Knowledge of, or experience with, lean manufacturing systems/processes and ERP/JDE configurations.

  • Experience with Excel and/or other data manipulation programs.

  • 25% travel potential (primarily domestic, but could be international).

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business Administrations/Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in supply chain, engineering, or business.

  • Knowledge of elevator industry and/or field operations is highly desirable.

Preferred location

  • Will consider Florence, SC; Farmington Hills, MI; or Bloomfield, CT.
