WestRock Company Electrical Reliability Engineer in Florence, South Carolina

The opportunity:

The primary responsibility of the Electrical Reliability Engineer is investigating and resolving electrical and reliability issues within the facility, lead work management system processes, and actively participate in area critical maintenance initiatives and root cause analysis. In addition, assist in outage and shutdown execution as required. The Electrical Reliability Engineer reports to the Reliability Manager.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Actively promotes and participates in all elements of the safety program

  • Supports and fosters safety and environmental compliance

  • Provide leadership and daily technical assistance for mechanical issues for the maintenance organization

  • Managing maintenance resources or contractors during outages or project implementation

  • Leads the reliability program to continuously improve equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs

  • Serves as the equipment reliability Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the site

  • Assures predictive and preventive maintenance activities support the strategy and core values of the Maintenance Department

  • Assures that an appropriate response is promptly enacted based on results from predictive failure analysis and condition monitoring processes

  • Ensure reliability programs are current with the latest technological advances where those advances provide cost-effective upgrades

  • Manages and reports Key Process Indicators (KPIs) detailing all the results of the reliability program activities on a weekly basis

  • Works closely with purchasing, stores, and engineering to ensure equipment reliability is implemented throughout all project phases including procurement, vendor selection, spare part selection and stocking.

  • Develops and adopts standards that improve equipment reliability

  • Continuously works with Maintenance and Operations to educate, promote, and support program buy-in throughout the mill

  • Recommends innovative solutions to increase equipment and facility life and reduce maintenance costs through the analysis of repetitive equipment failures/breakdowns and predictive maintenance analysis reports

  • Submits recommendations and justifications for capital expenditures that support and improve the reliability program

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.

  • Experience in heavy industrial or process industries, Pulp & Paper experience preferred.

  • Personal computer skills

  • Experience in four or more of the following areas:

  • Power distribution systems

  • Process instrumentation systems.

  • Process Design

  • Distributed control systems

  • Programmable logic controllers

  • Coordinated drive systems.

  • Variable speed AC and DC drives

  • Low and medium voltage motor control centers
