Clarios, LLC Plant Manager in Florence, Kentucky

What you will do
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Operations for Components plants,you will be responsible for directing production and operations for ourplantinFlorence, KY by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers and/or supervisors.Thissiteis a unionized manufacturing facility producing battery grids, poly vents,and poly coversand containers operating on a continuous schedule withapproximately300 employees on-site.
Key Responsibilities
Lead by example to developtheplant salaried teamto model leadership behaviors that drive employee engagement while meeting customer expectations.
Develop and communicate a vision for the facility to all employees and conduct monthly all-hands meetings to communicate plant performance to goals.
Drive safety, health, and environmental initiatives at the plant to keep employees safe and the site in full compliance with all laws and regulations.
Coordinate with components master scheduling and peer Plant Managers across the components organization to balance production requirements and drive best practices.
Develop and lead a plant operating rhythm and KPIs including a daily Gemba walk to monitor and meet daily plant objectives.
Work with thesitePlant Controller to develop the plant operating plan and communicate monthly performance versus plan and develop recoveryactions as required to meet plan.
Partner with the site HR Leader to maintaina healthy working relationship withemployees andleadership.
Plan and direct production activities and establishproduction priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
Manage materials and controlplant spending by monitoring KPIs for production requirements, overtime hours, andscrap/waste material and utilizelean processes toimproveinefficiencies within theplant.
Drivecontinuous improvement in the plant sponsoring the use ofLean and Six Sigmatools, andachieve and sustain maturity levels in our Manufacturing System Model.
Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance, quality, and operations teams to meet on-time fulfillment targets and internal and external quality goals.
Review and analyzeproduction, quality control, maintenance, and operation reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
Manage key projects as assigned.
What we look for
Bachelor's degree is required; Engineering preferred.
Minimum 10 years working in a manufacturing environment required
5 years of experience in plant leadership required.Experience in aunion manufacturingenvironment is highly desirable.
Demonstrated experienceand successesusing lean manufacturingand six sigmatools.
Knowledgeofenvironmental,health and safety standards.
Experience working with poly/plasticsor injection molding preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clear and concise information to varied levels within the organization.
Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability.
Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
