Position Summary:
The Neurosciences Advanced Practice Provider is assigned to the Neuroscience Service for the purpose of providing patient care under the supervision of the attending physician(s) in accordance with the rules, regulations, bylaws of the Medical Staff Office and McLaren Flint.
Independently delivers clinical service to patients of the service line within the limits of their privileges. As part of a Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, this position provides critical care to patients in a Neuro-Intensive Care Unit setting, including initial clinical consultations, daily rounding, and monitoring of care plans; facilitates stroke team alerts in the Emergency Department and Inpatient Hospital setting; manages transfer patients for advanced endovascular care, post-operative monitoring.
This position provides all aspects of clinical support for the physician team and strives to exceed Comprehensive Stroke Center standards.
Complies with MRMC standards, policies and procedures, contributes to customer satisfaction, and demonstrates the successful judgement and ability to service the unique needs of various patient populations and age groups.
Qualifications
Required:
Graduateof an accredited educational program for Physician Assistant or NursePractitioner program.
Licensurefor Physician Assistant orNurse Practitioner to practice within the State of Michigan.
Completion of medical staff credentialing and privileging process through MRMC.
Possesses functional capacity, motor and manual skills, speech, language, hearingand perceptual skills as needed to complete job obligations.
