Adecco US, Inc. Sr Electrical Controls Engineer in Flat Rock, Michigan
We are excited to present an opportunity to join our client's team as a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer . In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, programming, and integrating complex electrical and control systems for advanced manufacturing equipment, ensuring that customer needs are met with precision and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and engineer custom electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and lubrication control systems for manufacturing systems.
Develop PLC and HMI programs for a variety of control systems, including CNC machines and robotics.
Lead commissioning efforts during build, start-up, installation, and testing phases.
Integrate CNC machines with peripheral equipment, including material handling systems, gauging, and robotics.
Implement and design necessary safety features to meet customer specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues during installation and operational phases.
Produce thorough and complete documentation, including as-built redlines and control manuals.
Provide technical training to customers on system operation and maintenance.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure project timelines, action items, and goals are achieved.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical controls engineering, with a preference for experience in systems integration or machine builds.
Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ANSI standards, and UL/CE specifications.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, fluid, and mechanical schematics.
Advanced experience with CNC controls (Siemens 840D, Fanuc, Haas, etc.) and PLC programming (Allen-Bradley Logix or Siemens Step 7).
Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical for creating control system designs.
Experience with industrial protocols (PROFIBUS, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET) and robotics programming is a plus.
Familiarity with vision system design, automotive FIS/Andon systems, and integrated safety design.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and project teams.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in Visual Basic or C++ programming.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently while also being a proactive and collaborative team player.
Work Environment:
Climate-controlled facility.
Exposure to various weather conditions and potential noisy environments at project sites.
Required use of safety gear (e.g., safety shoes, gloves, hard hats) when on-site.
