8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm. Responsibilities Our Fitzgerald, GA Location has an opening for an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician, reporting to the maintenance Manager. This position will use prior experience to repair, maintain, and design equipment and electrical systems to aid the facility, reach increase productivity, and desired efficiencies. A Focus on health and safety, and food safety are key.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain, diagnose/troubleshoot and repair a variety of electro-mechanical equipment in both processing and high speed packaging. Perform line changeovers and equipment set-ups Complete Maintenance, Safety, Food Safety, and General training courses and documentation Planning, parts, and tools identification and executing rebuilds of existing equipment or installation of new equipment. Maintain, build, and repair automated and robotics systems, conveyors, and processing equipment (i.e. roaster, mills, fillers, capper, labeler, case packer, bundle wrapper), auxiliary plant equipment such as air compressors, lighting, HVAC/Chiller units, glycol systems, truck docks, doors and general facility upkeep items. Fabricate parts as required/requested Read and interpret drawings and blueprints Partner with machine operators on equipment troubleshooting needs Maintain, diagnose and repair electrical control and instrumentation. Replace electrical/electronic and control hardware including PLC’s and HMI’s Set-up and calibrate various instrumentation ( i.e. metal detectors, checkweighers, scales, feeders, temperature and flow transmitters Maintain, diagnose and repair PLC, HMI and ancillary controls instrumentation Edit PLC/HMI software, backup programs and software, update software/hardware revisions. Rockwell Software/Factory Talk/RSView and E-net/IP to maintain, diagnose and repair E-net/IP communications systems including switches Other duties, as assigned. Education and Experience required: High School Diploma 5 years in an electrical/mechanical maintenance Role Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and 5S (including Kaizen and Gemba) Preferred Education, Experience, and skills: Skilled Trades Technical Education Advanced technical training in Automation and electrical systems technology Leadership in a manufacturing maintenance Position Physical Requirement: Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4 + hours per shift Must be able to crouch, kneel, and stoop for 4 + hours per shift Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights for 6 + hours per shift Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, perform fine manipulation and feel for 6 + hours per shift Must be able to sit 4 + hours per shift Must be able to stand for 6 + hours per shift Must be able to work overhead for 1 + hours per shift
