Position Summary

Designs and develops architecture (integrated process, applications, data, technology, and security) models and solutions to business problems that set and align with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. Develops specifications for and selects new product/service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and reliability of proposed products/services to ensure architectures are composable and resilient. Performs architecture planning (strategy and roadmaps) and project support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports architectural governance and compliance, and contributes to defining principles, guidelines, and standards. Participates and contributes to solution architecture reviews and ensures architecture adherence.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure solution alignment with business objectives.

  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and platforms.

  • Takes a more active role in analyzing technology trends and impacts and contributes to vendor assessments.

  • Leads the design and development of end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements.

  • Analyzes and translates business and technical requirements into solution designs.

  • Leads the translation of business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints, collaborating with product owners and managers. Defines system integration approaches and ensures interoperability of components.

  • Provides guidance and support to development teams during solution implementation. Manages the architecture for a broader scope of projects and develops roadmaps for portfolio evolution.

  • Design, develop, and implement OT architecture solutions in alignment with both the Enterprise Architecture (EA) program and the Refining Technologist organization across the enterprise.

  • Develop OT roadmaps and contribute to Value Stream flight maps for the Refining OT Solutions product

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of relevant architecture experience required.

  • Technical Expertise - A strong understanding of various technologies, platforms, and systems relevant to the organization's architecture, such as networking, databases, cloud computing, and security.

  • Systems Thinking - The ability to analyze complex systems and understand their interdependencies, considering both technical and business aspects, to develop comprehensive and scalable architectures.

  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking - Strong problem-solving skills to identify architectural challenges, analyze requirements, evaluate options, and propose effective solutions.

  • Business Acumen for Architecture - Understanding of business processes, strategies, and goals to align architectural decisions with organizational objectives.

  • Cloud Computing - Knowing how to manage cloud services, develop cloud applications, and use cloud architecture to meet customer needs.

  • Data Analytics and Big Data - Knowledge of data analytics frameworks and technologies, such as data lakes, data warehouses, and machine learning, to design architectures that effectively handle large volumes of data and enable advanced analytics.

  • Internet of Things (IoT) - Familiarity with IoT concepts and protocols, as well as experience designing architectures that incorporate IoT devices and enable seamless connectivity and data exchange.

  • DevOps and Agile Methodologies - Knowledge of DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and agile development methodologies to facilitate efficient and collaborative software development and deployment.

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) - Understanding of AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and platforms to design architectures that support intelligent systems and enable AI-driven applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: . Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, lnforrnation Technology (IT), Information Systems Security, Electrical Engineering, Physical Sciences), or the equivalent per below: - An associate degree in a technical field, or related plus an additional 2 years of professional work experience in a technicai field; OR - 4 years of professional work experience in a technical field In addition to education, the following experience is required: Professional Level 3 (P3) . 5 or more years of experience in a technical, professional role for an enterprise, with a minimum of 4 years' experience in cybersecurity . Professional certification. such as Security+, SANS GSEC, ClSSP, CISA, or CRISC Professional Level 4 (P4) . 7 or more years of experience in a technical, professional role for an enterprise, with at least 6 years’ cybersecurity experience in a large enterprise . Professional certification, such as ClSSP, CEH, lSSAP/ISSMP, CRISC, SANS Professional Level 5 (P5) . 15 or more years of broad experience in information security, information systems, or related field of study, along with 10+ years cybersecurity related experience and 5+ years working as a Cybersecurity Architect supporting a large enterprise IT system . Cybersecurity Architecture certification (i.e. ClSSP-ISSAP)
