Job description
Overview: Instructors for Drive Time Driving Instruction will provide quality driver's education in the classroom and/or behind-the-wheel for new teenage drivers. Prefer instructors who can teach both, but open to specialists teaching only in-car or classroom.
Hours: At least 16 hours weekly -- up to 40 hours/week Flexible scheduling Evenings and weekends during the school year Daytime hours available in the summer and during school breaks
Requirements: 4 points or fewer on license BCI and FBI background check Licensed driver for at least 5 years Pass physical Detail-oriented Self-starter Trustworthy Friendly Team focused 60 hours of state-required training (fewer hours for licensed teachers or current/retired law enforcement)
Duties: Classroom: Teach six 4-hour classes Ensure paperwork required by the state is completed correctly Connect with teenage students: have fun, but provide knowledge necessary to be a safe driver Maintain a quality learning environment Follow state-required curriculum
And/or In-car: Provide instruction for new drivers from the passenger's seat Provide structured driving instruction in country, small town, larger city and on the interstate Ensure paperwork required by the state is completed correctly Connect with teenage students
