Position Overview Responsible for oversight of financial activities for the asphalt business unit. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversite of financial activities of the asphalt business unit of the Northwest division: 10 producing sites.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements ensuring all statements are properly analyzed and correctly stated.
  • Review monthly financials with business unit manager and senior management.
  • Perform month end closing activities-accruals, energy entries, production entries, inventory adjustments, etc.
  • Perform/assist with daily, weekly, and annual tasks required for asphalt business unit.
  • Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts as required.
  • Manage the Accounting Coordinator for asphalt business unit.
  • Assist/support sales team department and asphalt plant managers.
  • Assist with PRISM production reporting process.
  • Prepare for and respond to internal and external audit requests.
  • Compile/analyze financial data for multiple sources by way of Excel, Hyperion and Essbase
  • Strict adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley and GAAP rules.
  • Ensure adequate controls are in place and maintained to safeguard financials assets. This includes all SOX controls, AMAT and Shelly accounting policies and procedures.
  • Proficient with Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience Associate degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation
