Be a part of providing early intervention services for youths and families who strengthen the family system. Passionate about educational programming? Enjoy delivering curricula? Be a part of providing advocacy services to coordinate family support. Under guidance of the Prevention Supervisor, you will be a part of a high acuity serving team for multi-system involved youths and families. Work within the client's natural environment (home, school, community, etc.) while providing non-judgmental, unconditional, and emotional support to youths and families. Establish goals and priorities. Coach clients on how to advocate for themselves and identify gaps in services needed. Be a mentor for clients through skill building and by modeling positive social behavior. Focus on strengths, needs, and creative solutions to challenges they may be facing. Are you familiar with navigating available community resources? Assist families in finding ways to meet their basic needs of food, clothing, shelter, safety and health. Be an advocate in identifying and accessing community services and resources for clients and/or families. Provide budgeting skills to improve family financial stability. Identify parenting skills that could be strengthened and build a foundation of improved communication and coping skills. Provide outreach, information, referrals, and programming through individual and/or group settings. You have.

  • Associate's Degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Education, or other closely related human services discipline
  • A valid driver's license with the ability to meet minimum required level of auto insurance per carrier guidelines, as well as the willingness to transport clients in your personal vehicle as needed
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain one
  • Ability to regularly use various computer apps including Microsoft Office, our HRIS, EHR and other online systems, with multiple logins often simultaneously.
  • Willingness to submit background check and fingerprinting

Preferably.

  • Working towards professional certifications such as OCPS (Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist)
  • Experience working with youths and families across multiple systems
