Cutsforth, Inc. Security Software Developer in Ferndale, Washington

Role Overview: The Security Software Developer develops, plans, and analyzes, designs products, and programs software that requires extensive research. Utilizes advance knowledge in the field of computer science or software engineering along with advanced knowledge of software development and methodologies. The Security Software Developer will focus on supporting the development effort of the entire Cutsforth software stack, with attention to the securitization of that stack. Additionally, Security Software Developer will assist in the overall software development effort to achieve company strategic goals.

Cybersecurity Role Expectations:

  • Candidate will be responsible for reviewing policies and procedures related to cybersecurity and those relevant to the functions of their role.
  • Candidate is expected to maintain a cybersecure work environment.

Role Qualifications:

  • Successfully pass background check for cybersecurity access requirements.
  • Sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Must reside in the United States.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate with Research & Development and Cybersecurity teams to implement product modernization through the mitigation of technical debt.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity team to implement vulnerability remediations or mitigation strategies in product software.
  • Develop a variety of code for software stack and cloud environment leveraging best practices for security and functionality consistent with Cutsforth strategy.
  • Assist R&D team when necessary to assure Quality Assurance testing is performed and required remediation steps taken.
  • Cooperatively work with Dev Ops to ensure any communication protocols and channels are secured and meet commonly adopted security standards.
  • Prepares documentation required of the product.

Required Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems or Software Engineering or equivalent.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years' experience with C#, Java, JavaScript.
  • 3+ years' experience with secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Familiarity with implementing security topics from (OWASP), penetration testing, a variety of encryption methods data in transit and cloud storage, and more.
