Kaiser Permanente Therapist Substance Use Disorder in Federal Way, Washington
EXPERIENCE IN ADDICTION MEDICINE/CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY PREFERRED.
Provide urgent and routine alcohol and substance abuse diagnostic, clinical, educational and consultation services to Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington members and providers. Provide emergent, urgent and routine mental health services such as assessment, treatment and referral of problems determined to be medically necessary. Coordinate care with primary care practitioners.
Perform individual, family and/or group alcohol or substance abuse assessment and counseling to include intensive outpatient treatment. Work within multi-disciplinary department to provide effective treatment. Provide on-call (crisis) services within and outside Behavioral Health Services. Assess the need for psychotropic medication consultation and make appropriate referrals to primary care/psychiatry. Provide case management services and linkage of patients to appropriate resources within the Health Care Center District and community.
Provide alcohol and drug abuse consultation to other practitioners, including medical practitioners. Maintain clinical files, including progress notes, intakes, correspondence etc. per requirements set forth in the Chemical Dependency Program Manual and by BHS.
Provide DWI/Deferred Prosecution/SAP evaluations.
Coordinate referrals, as needed to outside inpatient/outpatient agencies assuring care is appropriate. Provide utilization management for chemical assessment and treatment plans in conjunction with the chemical dependency program manager.
- Minimum three (3) years of direct client services in an approved facility.
- Master's degree from an accredited university.
License, Certification, Registration
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
Washington State certification, qualified CD counselor/SUDP Certification (per RCW 18.205.010) by date of hire/transfer.
Intense outpatient treatment and DUI/DP evaluation experience post certification.
Communication and interpersonal skills.
Five (5) years of additional work experience.
Able to obtain additional state certification in mental health therapy, social work or family therapy shortly after hire/transfer.
