Mott MacDonald Group Project Controls Manager in Federal Way, Washington

Mott MacDonald is looking to hire an experienced, motivated, independent, and organized team player for a Project Controls Manager position in Seattle, WA. This position will report to the project manager and will support a design-build project management team and administer project controls for a large design-build transportation infrastructure project. This is a hybrid opportunity reporting to the project office minimum of three days a week or as required by the project manager. Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement project controls processes suitable for a large transportation infrastructure project. Monitor the implementation of project controls processes and make improvements when required. Report to the Project Manager on the development and implementation of project controls processes. Develop and monitor master agreement, sub agreements, work orders and amendments with teaming partners. Manage the project's monthly invoicing and relate backup to the client and provide billing support to both client and teaming partners. Develop fee estimates and staffing plans. Maintain a database of projected project fees and actual expenditures. Maintain direct and indirect cost rates for the project team. Develop benchmarks to check fee estimatesand staffing plans. Develop strategies for agreement and fee negotiations and support negotiations. Develop, implement, and monitor Key Performance Indexes (KPIs) and report to project stakeholders as required. Monitor design and construction progress to effectively oversee the design-builder's progress. Oversee the analyses of trends and develop options for corrective action, to include performing an analysis upon various alternatives and presenting recommendations to project management. Oversee the analysis, review, and forecast of the design-builder's cost performance, including the status of committed costs against approved budgets. Prepare written, tabular, and graphic reports that communicate project and design-builder cost and schedule status periodically and as required. Perform variance analysis including schedule and cost variances using indices such as the schedule performance index (SPI) and cost performance index (CPI). Oversee the project scheduler to ensure the timely and clear communication of schedule information, including actual progress versus planned progress and the impact of critical path and near-critical activities. Review the design-builder's monthly payment requests to ensure alignment with contractual requirements. Administer earned value requirements. Assist in the development of options for corrective action, analysis and recommendations to contract and project management. Attend project management meetings and be prepared to discuss issues and answer questions relevant to project or design-builder costs, schedule, commitments, and forecasts. Undertake and oversee progress evaluations in internal project management systems. Support the project teams in change order administration and negotiation. Support the project teams in assessing claims for additional cost and / or time extensions and provide negotiation support as necessary. Maintain a log of potential claims/change orders for the project manager. Support the commercial team in the development of letters as required. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in engineering, construction management, or equivalent. At least 10 years of increasing responsibility roles within the engineering/project controls/program management industry Project controls experience on large scale capital infrastructure projects.
