Aerotek Machine Operator in Federal Way, Washington

Machine Operator / Production Technician

Job Description

As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for the operation of various production machines in a maintenance center where rollers are serviced. This role requires experience working with large, heavy manufacturing equipment, and the ability to run overhead cranes and forklifts safely and efficiently. Candidates must join the union after 120 days.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various production machines.

  • Handle large, heavy manufacturing equipment.

  • Safely and efficiently run overhead cranes and forklifts.

  • Use hand and power tools, calipers, and grinders.

  • Ensure all work meets quality and time/cost standard requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to read and take measurements.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Ability to operate saws, presses, drills, forklifts, and lifting devices.

  • Safety-oriented mindset.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting.

  • Forklift experience.

  • Experience with manual controls.

  • Troubleshooting skills.

Work Environment

This is a heavy industrial environment with large equipment, moving machinery, and some older equipment. The environment can be loud, dirty, and warm or cold depending on the season. Candidates will train on days for 3-6 months, Monday to Friday, 7am-3:30pm, and then switch to swing shifts, Monday to Friday, 3pm-11pm .

This is a full time Contract to Hire position based out of Federal Way, Washington.
