Job Description

PCI is seeking an experienced Training Coordinator for its PCI Atlanta operations based in Fayetteville, GA. This individual will be responsible for the oversight of the branch’s field installation practices with a focus on their established area of expertise. The objective is to train and motivate safe and efficient installations based on our best-known practices. They will serve to bring intentionality and enhance our approach from job set through close out, with the mission of making us more competitive and effective in their given market.

  • Participate in PCI’s safety program with an emphasis on the crews they train

  • Participate in branch strategy discussions with branch leadership

  • Evaluate the current drywall finishing practices in the operation and establish areas of opportunity

  • Identify specific goals and needs related to training drywall finishers and approach that will result in increased efficiency (not necessarily speed), safety and accountability.

  • Establish expectations for our field leaders that are vetted upstream, and communicated well throughout the business

  • Create a culture of pride and support within the ranks; an insistence on being the best and supporting their teammates to do the same.

  • Be a proactive resource that provides ample coaching and reinforcement

  • Attend all meetings and trainings of the Construction Department

  • Work in partnership with the branch Superintendent(s) to improve the processes of our craft workers

  • Establish a training program that is specific to the individuals (by name, classification, certifications, or tenure) and an approach plan for the different facets. Some training plans may need to be phased to keep the total in stride.

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience working in the construction industry

  • OSHA 30 Certification

  • Expertise in interior scopes

Minimum Requirements :

  • Must lead with safety in mind first and always

  • Ability to affect change through personal influence

  • Must display strengths in communication, messaging, patience, team building, with an ongoing interest in improvements though innovation and continued learning.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

  • A clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings

  • Oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in team environment

  • Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught

  • Customer service skills

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to multitask

  • General knowledge of trade tools, equipment and materials used in the construction industry

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
