Preferred Knowledge/Skills :

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or success in the following areas:

  • Manage engagements as a trusted technical advisor to clients and projecting members to solve complex technical challenges, and establishing credibility & build trusting relationships with individuals within client organization;

  • Experience with one or more of the cloud platforms and providers, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure;

  • Proven track record of participating in the implementation of multiple cloud applications, preferably for highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise software deployments;

  • Assess existing large scale IT environments towards migration to Cloud;

  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy solutions to the cloud with a particular focus on mainframe applications;

  • Experience applying common migrations patterns, such as the Strangler Pattern, to the decomposition of monolithic applications;

  • Experience with mainframe analysis tools: SML, Cast, etc.;

  • Understand the overall architecture of a monolithic or mainframe application and the common patterns used in those applications (procedural systems, batch processing, sequential data storage such as VSAM/QSAM files, etc.);

  • Hands on Cloud engineering experience with compute, storage and network domains;

  • Evaluate cloud application requirements and make architectural recommendations for implementation, deployment and provisioning of applications;

  • Hands on working experience using cloud development frameworks;

  • Possess extensive understanding of Integration platforms and protocols (REST, SOAP, HTTP, UDP etc.);

  • Experience with CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins, GitHub etc.;

  • Hands on experience in database access protocols such as MongoDB, NoSQL, Hadoop etc.;

  • Experience participating in technical discussions with other solution architects, engineers, infrastructure teams, vendors and other stakeholders to align on future state architecture and application hosting services in a hybrid environment; and,

  • Communicate solution approach in an organized and knowledgeable manner.

Demonstrates extensive abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in the following areas:

  • Experience integrating SaaS products like Salesforce, Workday, SAP;

  • Experience in reverse engineering, determining requirements from a code base or using AI or other automated methods to accelerate the process of analyzing legacy application code;

  • Experience in a technical leadership role as a Solution Architect or Technical Architect (or similar);

  • Specialization in one or more of the following is desirable: DevOps, Serverless, Networking, Security, Storage, Databases, IOT, AI/ML, Cloud Migration and IT Transformation;

  • Assist the architecture team with interpretation and translation of client goals into technical specifications, delivering a POV on specific technologies, and driving technology change; and,

  • Research and evaluate software technology, products, and solutions, and make recommendations on technology/production introduction, phase out, and retirement.

The salary range for this position is: $100,000 - $232,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles that are based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
