Hitachi Astemo Americas Inc Design Release Process System Sr. Engineer in Farmington Hills, Michigan

Description General Responsibilities: Under general direction of a manager, the primary responsibility of this support and direct as needed the drawing standards, process flow / RASIC, training and roll out of PLM systems. Bridge the communication gap between Global Design Engineering and NA Local Design Engineering.

Job Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of this position includes, but is not limited to: Individual will be responsible for writing drawing generation, checking and release process flow charts. Individual will be responsible for supporting and directing as needed the generation of 2D and 3D engineering standards. Needs to be familiar with drawing standards (preferably ISO) and standards applications drawings released for prototype and production. Experience with project and/or program management systems is required. Familiar with suspension components (specifically dampers) would be a plus. Support internal prototype and production build drawing checking and sign off as required. Individual will be required to research automotive industry standards as well as other Hitachi ASTEMO groups and products. Individual will be required to research Hitachi ASTEMO SASG and other existing standards. Work with internal GSSK group to ensure timely standards generation and release.

Skills and/or special Knowledge: The ideal candidate will: Self Starter and Self Organizer Experience with chassis systems or components would be a plus. Experience in developing engineering systems and processes is a plus. Have working knowledge and experience with APQP program management Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, VISIO) Microsoft Project Experience with the following is desired, (not required) DFMEA, DVP&R Have experience tracking and reporting design changes.

Education: Possess a bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent) Experience: Have a minimum of 5-7 years applicable experience in related field

The ability to work as core coordinator of a global cross functional team applying effective verbal and written communication skills is a must. Ability to travel and support activities and coordination at the global level is required.

Working conditions: Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Carrying equipment up and down stairs.  Occasional overtime will be required.

Travel: Some domestic and international travel may be required. Must have a valid driver's license.
