Precipart Group, Inc. Packing and Kitting Assistant in Farmingdale, New York

Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is looking for a Packing and Kitting Assistant to join our Logistics team. The Picking and Packing Assistant is responsible for preparing precision, custom-manufactured components for shipping and / or assembly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Pack custom-manufactured components using appropriate materials and methods to ensure safe transport and delivery. Label packages accurately with product information, including part numbers, quantities, and destination details. Inspect final packages to ensure all components meet quality standards and customer requirements. Coordinate with the shipping department to ensure timely dispatch of packed components. Complete necessary shipping documentation and logs. Monitor and report any discrepancies or damages during the packing process. Prepare kits of components to be assembled based on work orders, bill of materials (BOM), and production schedules. Verify the accuracy and completeness of kit contents before going to assembly. Assist in resolving any issues related to kit contents or assembly processes. Keep accurate records of inventory levels for packing and kitting supplies. Conduct regular inventory counts and report discrepancies to the Logistics Manager. Replenish packing and kitting materials as needed. Ensure all components and materials are stored properly to maintain quality and prevent damage or contamination. Monitor cycle counts and coordinate with procurement for timely reordering. Conduct quality inspections throughout the packing and kitting process to ensure consistency and precision. Identify and report any defects or issues with components or packaging materials. Collaborate with the Quality team to resolve any quality-related problems. Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Provide the Logistics Manager with packing and kitting status updates. Responsible for conforming with the companys quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent 1+ years of experience in packing, kitting, or a related field within a manufacturing or logistics environment. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality Good problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, verbally and written, effectively with team members and cross-functionally Proficient in using MS Office Suite Values treating people well, has an empathetic approach and mindset, is ambitious and strives for personal and collective excellence, supports diversity and inclusion, and has a positive outlook and attitude.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION Proficiency with inventory management software and tools. Familiarity with precision components and custom manufacturing processes is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret work orders, BOMs, and technical drawings. PAY RANGE: $18.00 to $20.00 an hour
