Farmingdale State College invites applications for a Lecturer position in the Department of Mathematics. We are seeking a highly qualified candidate with a strong Applied Mathematics and Statistics background. The appointment is expected to begin in Fall 2025. Candidates must hold an MS/MA in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a related field. A master's degree is required, while a doctorate in Applied mathematics or a related field is preferred.

The responsibilities of this position include teaching 15 credit hours of undergraduate mathematics courses, assigned to majors and non-majors. The successful candidate must demonstrate an interest and a high level of competence in teaching. The faculty member may be expected to teach in multiple formats including hybrid, online, and traditional face-to-face classes.

    Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or a closely related field by August 2025.

  • Ability to teach mathematics or statistics courses effectively to both majors and non-majors.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctorate in Applied Mathematics.

  • Provide evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.

    Additional Information:

This is a 10-month UUP faculty position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Friday, October 4, 2024, and ending Thursday, October 17, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

  • CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Monday, December 2, 2024

  • SALARY: $65,000 + $4,000 in downstate location pay = $69,000 Total Compensation.

  • ANTICIPATED START DATE: Fall semester 2025
