Farmingdale State College invites applications for a Lecturer position in the Department of Mathematics. We are seeking a highly qualified candidate with a strong Applied Mathematics and Statistics background. The appointment is expected to begin in Fall 2025. Candidates must hold an MS/MA in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a related field. A master's degree is required, while a doctorate in Applied mathematics or a related field is preferred.
The responsibilities of this position include teaching 15 credit hours of undergraduate mathematics courses, assigned to majors and non-majors. The successful candidate must demonstrate an interest and a high level of competence in teaching. The faculty member may be expected to teach in multiple formats including hybrid, online, and traditional face-to-face classes.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or a closely related field by August 2025.
Ability to teach mathematics or statistics courses effectively to both majors and non-majors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctorate in Applied Mathematics.
Provide evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.
Additional Information:
This is a 10-month UUP faculty position.
For the first 10 working days, beginning Friday, October 4, 2024, and ending Thursday, October 17, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Monday, December 2, 2024
SALARY: $65,000 + $4,000 in downstate location pay = $69,000 Total Compensation.
ANTICIPATED START DATE: Fall semester 2025
