Periodically, adjunct teaching positions become available in the Visual Communications Department. The three main focus areas are graphic design, interaction design, and art history. Specific subject areas include the following traditional and digital media courses: drawing, 2D 3D, and 4D design; color theory; typography; graphic design; digital media; photography; pastels; calligraphy; watercolor; acrylic painting; illustration; advertising; web design. Please see the current Farmingdale College catalog online for course descriptions (courses are listed under VIS, IXD, and ART).

Please submit a resume with a cover letter indicating relevant areas of expertise, professional and teaching experience, as well as specific courses qualified to teach. Also, indicate if interested in teaching one or two courses and day or evening availability. The department chair will contact you if and when a position becomes available that meets your qualifications. The ideal candidate should be available to teach days and evenings, have a solid foundation in traditional and digital art and graphic design or art history. Current professional work and experience in studio art, graphic design, web design, created within the last 5-10 years. Must demonstrate mastery of craft and expertise in current tools and technologies. Please submit a CV or resume, 10-12 samples of design work (pdf or link to a website).
