Job Summary
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance of all power plant equipment utilizing safe job plans, written procedures, vendor manuals, and good engineering practices.
Key Accountabilities
Knowledge of and experience in several of the following skills: pipefitting, welding, machining, rigging, rotating machine repair, fabrication, machine alignment, basic vibration analysis, and using electrical/power equipment.
Knowledge of power plant mechanical and electrical equipment as well as safety policies and procedures, especially in the areas of high-energy systems, chemical handling, heavy equipment, rotating machinery, confined spaces, incipient fire suppression, and first-aid/CPR.
Experience in the maintenance, repair and installation of rotating equipment (pumps, mechanical seals, turbines, fans, bearings, gaskets, couplings, alignment, etc.).
Knowledge of heat recovery steam generators and related equipment, piping systems (valves, actuators, flanges, hangers, etc.), and lube oil, analysis, filtration & hydraulic oil systems
Support local start-up of all major equipment (turbines, compressors, pumps, motors, etc.)
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
High school diploma or GED
1-3 years of power or industrial plant mechanical maintenance experience
Experience with gas turbine combined cycle maintenance preferred.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a valid driver's license.
