The Communications organization within the Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a skilled communications professional to join our team in executing dynamic communications strategies.
The successful candidate has demonstrated skill in executing strategic communications plans, including earned, owned, and paid media, as well as coordinating content creation for executive, customer and employee communications.
In this job, you’ll:
Join a team tasked with developing and executing internal and external communications strategies.
Collaborate across functions and sectors to ensure regular exchange of information to support consistent messaging, share communications practices and support enterprise events.
Support the alignment of communications planning and execution for corporate and sector initiatives and measurement objectives.
Partner across teams on the development of external products and customer communication materials to track and drive performance, reputation, and engagement against defined objectives.
Maintain a detail-oriented mindset with organizational strengths and adherence to time management and deadlines.
Draft, edit and lead the design of collateral materials, including but not limited to social media posts, executive communications, employee communications, press releases.
Serve as a partner and trusted advisor to business partners, providing insights, perspective and counsel on communications strategies.

There are three positions available – one based in Linthicum, MD and two others based in either San Diego, CA, Linthicum, MD or Falls Church, VA.
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with eight (8) years of experience successfully developing and deploying communications practices or six (6) years of communications experience with Master-level degree.
Experience in communications strategy development and execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem solving, organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
US citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field
Experience working in a large, matrixed organizations
An ability to digest complex concepts and communicate them in simple, effective ways
Experience working in the U.S. Department of Defense industry, with a basic understanding of DoD business
Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate and gain consensus
Comfort with change in a fast-paced, empowered work environment
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently
Proficient in Associated Press Style
Secret Security Clearance
Salary Range: $108,400 - $170,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
