Associa Maintenance - Master Plumber in Falls Church, Virginia

The Plumber is responsible for inspecting, servicing, maintaining and repairing plumbing and hydronic heating equipment. This person is responsible for insuring proper preventive maintenance is performed on all equipment under their assignment. The Plumber ensures that all maintenance requests are responded to and completed in a prompt manner.

This position is based in Falls Church but will perform work around the Northern Virginia, DC metro area we will provide a company vehicle.


  • Perform routine inspections.

  • Execute scheduled maintenance per contract requirements.

  • Receive and investigate emergency calls.

  • Meet and coordinate with Supervisor on a daily basis; respond to the needs of management in an expeditious manner.

  • Advise managers of any and all irregularities, which affect equipment, operating costs, safety or the environment.

  • Where necessary or as directed, oversee contractors.

  • Maintain parts inventory and distribution in accordance with contract requirements.

  • During the course of inspections, follow the prescribed format or if a format is not provided focus on: plant operations, safety, and general conditions.

  • Install, service, maintain, and replace plumbing and hydronic heating equipment.

  • Manage customer accounts and provide customer support and make regular site visits.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • General knowledge of boilers, plumbing systems and controls, pumps, motors, piping and drainage systems.

  • Read and write in English.

  • Knowledge of general building policies and procedures for building under contract.

  • Extensive knowledge of building operations and systems.

  • Knowledge of local building codes and safety procedures.

  • Knowledge of OSHA codes; ASHRAE standards; and NFPA standards as they pertain to buildings under contract.

  • Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings and blueprints.

  • A general understanding of piping practices, drainage systems, and heating equipment.

  • Ability to perform all plumbing maintenance work.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in emergencies.

  • Good communication skills, written and oral.

  • General computer skills for word-processing and spreadsheet programs.

  • Ability to pass Plumber II skills and proficiency test


  • Walking, driving, use ladders and stairs.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.


  • Virginia/DC/ Maryland Master Plumbing license

  • Virginia/DC/ Maryland Master Gasfitters

  • Virginia/DC/ Maryland drain mechanic license

  • Minimum 7 years field experience

  • High School Graduate

  • Posses a valid Drivers Licence
