First Student Maintenance Manager in FAIRVIEW, New Jersey

The following position is for a proposed new/future business within MPC Bus Co. Only candidates meeting the work experience requirements will be considered.
Takes responsibility for the total operation of the maintenance department, including the functions of personnel administration for those in the department, maintenance reports and record keeping, purchasing and stores of maintenance items, service vehicles maintenance, revenue vehicles maintenance, buildings and ground maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Administers the Human Resource function for those employees in the department in accordance with approved policies.
Administers personnel policies and procedures as they affect his/her department in accordance with approved facility policy.
Posts job and vacation “picks” in accordance with facility policy.
Reviews and analyzes reports of fuel and fluid consumption, tire costs, equipment road failures, shop work progress and overall maintenance costs.
Reviews, approves, and forwards requisitions for the purchase of equipment, parts, materials supplies and examine competitive bids and products submitted by vendors
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Advanced technical training
High School Diploma or equivalent
5 years of proven experience in passenger transportation or comparable service industry maintenance management
Comprehensive knowledge of various performance indicators including KPI, WAR, DataStream and financial statements
Independent thinking skills with high levels of prioritization skills
Excellent oral and written communications.
Excellent leadership, customer relations, and interpersonal skills to communicate and cooperate with clients and other departments
Knowledgeable of HR systems and tools
Committed to a Safety lifestyle
Valid driver’s license
