LOCATION OF POSITON:Monroe One BOCES - 41 O'Connor Road, Fairport NY 14450;Various Locations - Anticipated Openings
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:10-Month Position, Full-Time; Probationary
STARTING DATE:September 2024
SALARY RANGE: $48,000 - $78,401 per school year
*Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.
DUTIES:
Plan and provide instruction for students with multiple disabilities in accordance with NYS mandates and standards.
Provide individualized educational programs for middle/high school students with significant behavioral, intellectual, and mental health needs.
Develop, implement, and evaluate Individual Education Plans (IEPS) to meet student needs.
Develop, implement, and evaluate lesson plans utilizing best practices.
Develop, implement, and evaluate alternative behavior management plans.
Work on a multidisciplinary team to foster collaborative planning and an interdisciplinary approach to learning.
Effectively communicate with school staff, parents, districts, and community agencies.
Manage and support classroom team.
Participate in on-going training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
NYS Students with Disabilities Certification Grades B-2, 1-6, 5-9, or 7-12 preferred.
Experience with students with developmental disabilities at the elementary school level.
Training in Life Crisis Intervention strategies, TCI, SCIP-R, or similar problem-solving strategies preferred.
Knowledge and experience implementation NYS standards, Core Curriculum and NYS Alternative Assessment.
Proven leadership with classroom team management preferred.
Experience working with students who exhibit intense behavioral/emotional disabilities preferred.
Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation) including, but not limited to, the ability to use approved physical intervention techniqueswhen necessary.
